Blog Post #1 - Who am I? You sure you want to know?
My name is Bryan M. Davis and I am film major in Hunter College. I love to watch movies. As a kid growing up in Brooklyn, it was
my escape from reality. My family supported my love of films, always
getting me movies to watch over the years for my birthday or for
Christmas.
I want to do write and direct my own
movies for a living. Or write and produce them. If I direct, I would
love to do projects that are catered to my interests: horror, action,
superhero films, with elements of drama, science fiction, and comedy
thrown in to balance it out.
I would love to do a TV series called
GuideLance and would be based around my high school experiences and
high school nostalgia. The main character returns to work for his
high school as a guidance counselor. I hope to work on a comic book
show one day, such as one of the Marvel Netflix shows or the CW's DC
universe shows.
But my main goal is a horror movie
trilogy called Blood Lust that's inspired by the works of horror
directors such as John Carpenter, Wes Craven, Guillermo del Toro, and
Alfred Hitchcock, and others like Michael Mann, Sam Raimi, and the
Coen Brothers. Their work inspires me because of a realism to their
characters, all the while being spectacular. My writing allows me to
work in whatever genre, creating characters who are realistic and
well-grounded that don't feel like characters in a movie.
